Principal's Message

On behalf of the staff at St Joseph’s School Moora, I would like to welcome you to our community.

St Joseph’s has been offering the children of Moora and outlying areas such as Watheroo, Dandaragan, Bindi Bindi, Miling, Badgingarra and Koojan, a Catholic Education since 1913. Our school was founded by the Sisters of St Joseph and we still have a strong connection with Saint Mary of the Cross who we see as one of our patrons, the other being St Joseph.

We are a community growing together in harmony and faith in Jesus where staff, students, parents and the parish of St John the Baptist, work together in a spirit of Christian cooperation. We work together with Father Simeon San to ensure the Parish/School connection remains strong. The Sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation are all celebrated at the Parish after in class instruction.

Our school motto ‘Learning with Dignity, captures what is truly important to us at St Joseph’s School. We value diversity and acknowledge that our students have the right to learn with dignity. Our staff ensure that we provide all our children with the opportunity to reach their full potential.

At St Joseph’s School all students receive a Catholic education whereby we use Jesus as our model to teach how we should treat others and expect to be treated. Making Jesus Real is an education resource we also follow. It is centred on the belief that we are all God’s children and are called to try to be like Jesus Christ in the way we live. We offer a broad range of educational experiences covering the Western Australian Curriculum. We have specialist teachers in Physical Education, Science, Digital Technology and Performing Arts with all other content being covered in class. Starting in 2023 we are teaching AUSLAN as our Language Other Than English.

At St Joseph’s we encourage our Aboriginal families to participate in our ‘Little Joeys’ family based playgroup. This runs three mornings a week. Our school also offers a Kindy Gym for children too young to attend formal classes. This is once a week and open to any family from Moora and surrounding towns.

Primary Education gives all students a great grounding to become life-long learners. We look forward to working with all our families to ensure their child has the best start to their education.

Yours in faith.
